Whistler-mode propagation: solution for an inhomogeneous plasma

ABSTRACT

A Maxwell's equations are solved for a signal of arbitrary shape excited in an isotropic medium and then propagating longitudinally in whistler mode in a magnetoionic medium. The magnetoionic medium is inhomogeneous in the direction of propagation.
