The Workshop will be held in the lecture theater in Balaton Limnological Research Institute (BLRI) of Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Klebelsberg Kuno u. 3., Tihany, Hungary H-8237 Tihany is a beautiful peninsula at Lake Balaton in Hungary.
About Hungary: Hungary is member of European Union, the local currency is Hungarian Forint, but some places, including hotels, restaurants, petrol stations accept Euro. The population of Hungary is a bit more than 10 million. Climate: The climate in mid-September is usually mild, the mean temperature is 15-18oC with 20-25oC daytime maximum. The 'Indian Summer' starts at mid-September and lasts till early October. The temperature of the lake water is usually between 15-20oC. All major car rental firms are available at the Budapest Airport, Tihany can be accessed from the airport through M0-M7-71 roads. Tihany can be accessed by train from Budapest-Déli Pályudvar (station), see the webpage of Hungarian Railways (http://elvira.hu). The nearest train station to Tihany is Balatonfüred (5 km), from here you can take a bus or a taxi to Tihany. |
